"From a small seed, a mighty trunk may grow." Aeschylus
That was “us”, on the “set” of our launch just two years ago, on January 13, 2019! We launched with our Community Connects series featuring three guests from Smyrna, Georgia that shared their personal health and fitness journeys. We introduced The Four Seeds of Self-Care through conversations with our guests as they shared their stories of challenge and triumph, which by the way, is an ongoing process! Their stories gave us a chance to connect with members of our community and learn that we are not alone in our self-care struggles! With each story came the opportunity to affirm that despite the struggle, consistently eating well, exercising, meditating, and getting good sleep positively impacts our well-being helping us to achieve our personal goals, foster more meaningful relationships, and reconnect to our community.
What started as a tiny seedling is growing and flourishing! Since our launch two years ago, we have hosted nine Community Connects episodes, seven ConnectEd Workshops (both online and in-person), and six ReConnect Retreats. We facilitated three Self-Centered Women groups, Lunch & Learn events, as well as two Power In Truth conferences for hundreds of middle and high school students and three online Self-Care Challenges. We attended numerous College & Career fairs and expos, conducted Zoom workshops for schools and other groups, and organized Smyrna Unites a special community event! We were even awarded a $9,000 small business grant by the Cobb Chamber! During this global pandemic, we stood fast to sharing the message of the importance of self-care. The feedback that we have received from our clients confirms that it is needed more than EVER BEFORE!
